Our trip to the US for the Junior World Disc Golf Championships is well under way. It was a long flight but we arrived safely in Kansas City. WOW! It is hot and humid here. Much different to the winter we left behind in Australia.
We played one round of disc golf in Kansas City at Rosedale Park with our new friends Kathryn and Ava. Ava will also be playing at Junior Worlds but in a younger age division.

We continued our journey with the drive to Emporia. I am grateful for GPS and am also mastering driving on the opposite side of the road. The drive to Emporia was very pretty. Kansas is very flat and very green. We were greeted to Emporia by thunderstorms.
We had a couple of days to explore Emporia’s disc golf courses before The Divisional Doubles Tournament. The courses here are amazing. We have played Peter Pan, Hammond Park, Flint Hills and Jones Park West. I think our favourite so far is Peter Pan. We also played an evening round with some locals which was lots of fun.

Our first official tournament was yesterday; The Junior World Divisional Doubles. Evelyn paired up with her friend Virginia who is from Missouri. They played two amazing rounds of disc golf, well above their current ratings despite the heat and humidity to take the Under 12 girls win. Well done girls!
