It has been a long hot day of disc golf. With temps over 100 degrees F and high humidity, it was hard work. The girls were on the course for almost 7 hours today with just a one hour break between their morning round at Peter Pan and their afternoon round at Jones West.
Evelyn was fortunate to have the lovely folk from Eagle wings caddy for her today and even had a gallery with the Eagle Wings crew including Hannah and Dustin Leatherman follow them at Peter Pan. ‘The Disc Golf Guy’ even came out to film the Under 12 girls card for part of their round!
Evelyn struggled a little during the morning round and had to work hard to come back after a series of bad throws. She finished her morning round with a 78.
During the afternoon round however she was happy and playing some great disc golf, despite the long course and the windy conditions. There was just Ebonnie and Evelyn on her card plus one of the TDs to make it official. It seems that all it needed was some fries with ketchup and a super cold drink to perk her up. She managed to claw her way back in to 4th place in her division.
After the second round today the girls still found time for more disc golf pro appreciation. These guys are so amazing with all the children, signing collector cards and discs. Hannah Leatherman even had Evelyn sign a card for her!
Tomorrow we have just one round of 18 at Peter Pan so are looking forward to a relaxing afternoon before the block party and Flymart.
I am so glad we made the journey to the US for Junior Worlds. It has been tough at times but this has been the most amazing experience and Evelyn has made some wonderful friends.
